A subscription box and a membership site running on one billing engine — so a coffee club and a paid newsletter are the same product with different settings. Members start on a free trial with nothing taken on day one, change plan whenever they like, pause without losing their history, and cancel while keeping the period they already paid for. Behind them, the billing runs itself: renewals, retries on a failing card, and a dunning sequence that gives up gracefully rather than silently. Every charge is a row, including the failed ones, so the history of a dunning cycle can be read back rather than guessed at. MRR normalised across intervals — monthly, quarterly and annual plans reduced to one comparable number on the dashboard. A packing screen built for a bench, one card per parcel, for whoever is actually filling the boxes.
